Pretoria Today       Wednesday, September 18, 2019
The Ndlovu Youth Choir, hailing from Limpopo, South Africa, has continued to inspire and impress America’s Got Talent judges and audiences throughout the competition, leading them to the finale which took place on Tuesday, 17 September 2019. Led by conductor, Ralf Schmitt, the choir put their South African spin on Toto’s Africa, whilst dressed in complementary yellow ensembles.

The judges were seen on their feet throughout their performance and the choir was left in disbelief after the overwhelming reaction.

Judge, Simon Cowell, stated, “I pray for one thing only on these shows, that it can change people’s lives. I think that performance may just have done that. With that performance, you have ended with the best final I’ve ever sat on in my life. That was your best performance by a clear mile!”. The choir also shared a tweet prior to their performance which stated, “Tonight we were proud young ambassadors of a united Africa. Africa has the world’s youngest population and our hope is that our performance reflected the talent, opportunity and potential of millions of young people. One nation, one continent.”

Fans offered their praises for the choir on social media, with many complimenting them on their representation of South Africa. Nkhumeleni Elsie said, “It’s 04:00 in South Africa. I didn’t sleep at all, just waiting for this performance. You make me proud to be South African!”.

The live finale results will be aired tonight, 18 September 2019, on NBC and will later be shared on America’s Got Talent’s YouTube page for international audiences.
