Since announcing his departure, Emtee has repeatedly emphasised that the split was amicable. However, on Friday, 4 October 2019, he took to Twitter to call out the record label for holding on to all the awards he won while he was still signed to the label. In his post, he wrote, “Somebody tell Ambitiouz Entertainment I want all my awards back. Thanks.”
His followers quickly responded to the post. One such social media user said, “Those awards were never supposed to be there in the first place. They must hand them [over] to the owner.” Another follower attempted to stir the pot, writing, “Rumour has it that they bought those awards for you. So I doubt they will give you back now. It’s their money, after all.”
Moreover, another artist that supported the Manado hitmaker’s sentiments is former Ambitiouz Entertainment signee, Amanda Black, who wrote “[Me too] and my plaque, please.” Her corroboration further fuelled the conversation, with one follower asking, “But on what grounds [do they not want to give them to you]? The person awarded is the artist, not the label, [what do they want with them]?”
However, it seems Ambitiouz Entertainment is unfazed by the claims made by the two artists. The stable has not addressed the claims on social media nor released any formal statement since Emtee and Amanda Black’s claims were made.
