Twitter users confront Boity about a tweet from nine years ago, directed at AKA

On Tuesday, 24 September 2019, Boity was shocked and later shared in the laughter after a social media user tried to question a tweet she had sent to rapper, AKA, in January 2010. In the tweet, Boity had stated, “AKA did you get my SMS earlier this morning? Hope you did. Mwah!” Her 2.7 million followers immediately took to the comments section to tease the Bakae rapper about the intention of the tweet.

The first comments shared in the amazement of the Twitter user finding a tweet from nine years ago. One follower wrote, “2010! You guys are witches.” Another follower that shared the same sentiments wrote, “2010,” adding multiple laughing emojis to their post. Other social media users started to question the intention of the tweet, with one of the first comments suggestively writing, “2010 or not.” Another social media user questioned “That mwah.”

The focus thereafter moved to the social media user that found and retweeted the post. One follower wrote to the user, stating, “But brother dearest. The digging must stop.” The social media user replied in good humour, stating, “[I] was showing her a young throwback.”

Boity responded to the throwback tweet in good humour, with multiple emojis reflecting her change in emotional reactions from shock, embarrassment and lastly laughing with her followers. She wrote back, saying, “I hate Twitter!”
